Hands for Hearts is North Carolina’s premier non-profit dedicated to supporting children and families navigating congenital heart defects (CHD). Based in the Triad, we turn community support into direct action.

With more than $2 million raised to date, our community-driven initiatives deliver lasting impact:

  • Hands for Hearts Casino Night: Our flagship annual celebration bringing together sponsors, supporters, and families for an unforgettable evening of food, drinks, live casino games, and high-impact auctions.

  • Matthew F. Sullivan Advanced Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship: Created and fully funded at Duke Children’s Hospital in 2018, providing elite 4th-year fellowship training for pediatric cardiologists serving local families at Duke Children’s Specialty Services in Greensboro.

  • Open Heart Hour: Launched in June 2026, our team provides comforting meals directly to families and care teams in the Duke University Pediatric Cardiac ICU.
